CrossFit Oxford Originals

Are you ready to focus on your fitness and want to make a change? Then Crossfit Oxford Originals is the place to be.

CrossFit define fitness as being competent in all the 10 components of fitness. CrossFit is a ‘strength and conditioning system built on constantly varied, functional movements executed at high and controlled intensity’. All classes are separated into three sections, the ‘Buy In’, ‘Skill of the Day’ and the ‘WOD’.

The CrossFit Process

  1. ‘The Programme’ – Designed for you to see progress. We run our programme around a 4 week training cycle, testing week one then retesting in week 4. This way you  are able to adapt gradually and then see how much progress you’ve made.
  2. ‘Class Structure’ – Warm up – This will always be specific to what our main skill is that  day. Prep the necessary muscles, then get that heart rate up.
  3. ‘Main Skill’ – Here is our first educational piece of the class. Our coaches will teach and coach you through the main movement to ensure maximal safety and effect. You work in pairs or small groups giving you an opportunity to make friends and get motivated.
  4. ‘Accessories’ – Our second learning opportunity. This is designed to inform and instruct you on the best movements to strengthen the main skill but to also challenge different areas of your body.
  5. ‘The WOD’ – aka ‘The Workout of the Day’.The fitness, the conditioning element of the programme. This workout will still be fluid with the main topic of the class but with added movements to encourage that heart rate to increase. These ‘WODs’ tend to be between 7 and 10 minutes long.

Want more? After completing Steps one and two, you will join the other P6 members in the CrossFit classes.
